Scholarship Information

KCWLA is committed to supporting the educational goals of aspiring lawyers who are either from Kern County or intend to practice here. To this end, our affiliate organization, Kern County Women Lawyers Foundation, annually awards scholarships to law students who are entering their second or third year of law school. The scholarship is renewable, although a separate application must be received each year. Eligible applicants must have ties to Kern County, California, have financial need and/or hardship, be in good academic standing.

Eligible applicants are required to submit a completed application, cover letter, resume, transcript, and a XXX-word essay on (see website for topic).

The recipient of this scholarship will be asked to present their essay at the KCWLA’s annual scholarship fundraiser benefit.

Kern County Women Lawyers Foundation is a 503(c)(3) non-profit organization and donations to the scholarship fund may be made directly by contacting Sharon Garrett at sgarrett@kleinlaw.com.
